The project has two main aims.

1. to develop a Training Curriculum for trainers, educators, social workers and other professionalists working in the field of adult education to assess the key competences of low-skilled or low-qualified adults, with a particular focus on literacy, numeracy and digital competences, and to motivate and involve this target group in adult education;

2. to support low-skilled or low-qualified adults in developing their key competences, especially in the literacy, numeracy and digital field.

The PIAAC Adult Skills Survey shows that 70 million Europeans are struggling with the most basic reading, writing and numeracy skills. Without these skills, it is difficult to use a machine to buy a train ticket, read to their children or understand written security measures. This can impede social integration and work.

The importance of "Digital Literacy", as one of the eight key competences that every European citizen should master, is even highlighted by the European Commission's Digital Agenda 2010 for Europe.
The COMP-UP project, in line with the needs and priorities above, will aim to increase motivation for low-skilled adult students to participate in education and improve their literacy; speaking skills and digital skills.
