Photo 1, 8 weeks
You will learn all basics about camera, photo editing and composition. A practical course for people looking to progress to more advanced courses or simply to develop a more solid base for their photographic creativity.
Please note that we stop over week 15 due to Easter holidays.
The goal is to learn the basics of how cameras work and to develop a good insight into image processing. You will receive a broad base in which technology and images are equally highlighted elements in the course.
Who is this course for?
This course is for people who are just starting out in photography that would like to feel more comfortable with the tools of photography. Whether you are planning to take up photography professionally or a hobby photographer looking to take a big step in her or his development, this is the course for you.
This is a beginner’s course and you do not need any prior experience.
- Cameras, default settings
- Exposure/sharpness/histograms, etc.
- Basics of Photoshop, RAW conversion, working with layers and selections
- Understanding image composition and analysis
- Insight into numerous photo genres
- Assignments designed to inspire and help guide you to be a better photographer
Please bring along your own camera, it is important that your camera has manual functions for this course. Don't forget your instruction manual if you have one!
Henry Carroll’s book "Read This if You Want to Take Great Photographs" is included.
The group will consist of up to 12 participants. Theoretical instruction with exercises during and between the course sessions. We will review the results in group. We work with iMacs and the latest Photoshop CC version.
