B4C

The B4C (Biochar and Circular Carbon Economy Competences) project is an Erasmus+ initiative under the KA220-VET program, aimed at advancing vocational education in the context of the European Green Deal.

This 24-month project, starting in November 2023, involves five key partners from Germany, Luxembourg, France, and Sweden across three VET sectors—construction, agriculture, and horticulture.

Objectives: B4C intends to integrate Circular Carbon Economy (CCE) principles into vocational training, focusing on biochar production and its role in carbon sequestration. This project addresses climate change by preparing VET students and professionals with skills to manage CO₂ reduction through biochar-based value chains.

Activities: The project will conduct a European-wide analysis of CCE in VET, design innovative training modules for the construction and agri-horticultural sectors, and establish a platform that will feature courses and a virtual exhibition of biochar applications. These activities will foster professional development for educators and learners, culminating in the establishment of a B4C network through a European conference.

Expected Results: B4C aims to generate a European survey of good practices, deliver blended learning modules for various VET sectors, and create a comprehensive online learning platform. Additionally, the project will foster interdisciplinary collaboration and validation of green competencies in VET education.
