Who is this course for?
This is an English-language class for people who have been practicing yoga for some time, be it at home or with in-person classes. You already have a rough idea of common asanas (yoga postures) like the warriors, upward-facing dog, downward-facing dog, cat and cow, sun salutations, high and low lunge, etc.
Goals
- Challenge yourself
- Get your heartbeat up, since we will usually hold an asana for only one to three breaths before flowing to the next asana (as it is common within Vinyasa yoga)
- Discover some asanas you’ve never done before, or rediscover them
- Get new inspiration for your at-home practice
- End your day with an energizing practice, followed by Shavasana
Setup
We meet only once, but there is another date you can book independently. You can either bring your own yoga mat or use the one that’s available in the room, along with yoga blocks.
Annika Wappelhorst
Yoga and meditation have been part of my everyday life for many years. In early 2023, I completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training in India and have been teaching beginners and all-level classes ever since. I mainly draw inspiration from the Hatha and Vinyasa styles of yoga. Hatha yoga is often called the oldest tradition of postural yoga and involves holding postures for several breaths. In Vinyasa (flow) yoga, on the other hand, all postures are allowed, creativity is key, and one flows from one posture to another with the rhythm of the breath.
