NOTE
This course will take place at Vädursgatan 5, in Gårda. Tramstation "Ullevi södra" or "Ullevi Norra".
Special schedule due to national holidays as follows:
The course will be 18 days/60 study hours totally and the schedule will be:
- First week Monday - Thursday 09.00-12.30 (including a 30 minute break)
- Second week Monday - Friday 09.00-11.15
- Third week Monday - Thursday 09.00-12.30 (including a 30 minute break)
- Fourth week: Monday-Friday 09.00-11.15
So no lessons on: 6 June (Swedish National Day) or 20 June (Midsummer's Eve)
Target group
Students with no previous knowledge of the Swedish language.
Aim of the course
To know basic Swedish for everyday situations.
Course content
- simple ways of introducing yourself, greetings, shopping, ordering, talking on the phone, asking for information etc.
- describing your house/home, your family and your own country
- discussing everyday life in the present and past tense
- reading and writing simple texts and messages
- information about Sweden and Swedish culture
- numbers and time
- word order
- Swedish intonation
The teaching is in Swedish from the start and the main focus is on oral communication. You are expected to take an active part in the lessons and your thoughts on various topics are an integral part of the course. Plan for time for homework between the lessons in class.
OPTIONAL: Extended course
In addition to your morning course, you can choose to have additional individual hours to practise your individual needs in grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary, professional language etc. Read more here.
Course literature
Rivstart A1+A2 by Paula Levy Scherrer and Karl Lindemalm, latest edition, REVISION 3 (text and excercise book). Course books are not included in the course fee. You will use this books on the A1 and A2 courses.
Continuation course
After this course you can book the next level A2, starting directly after this course.
To register for a course
Click on the red button "BOKA NU" and complete the application form. Click on "Use the English booking form" if you do not have a Swedish personal number. The course starts only if a minimum number of people sign up. About a week before the course starts, you will get a final confirmation (called "Kallelse" in Swedish) with the information about teacher, which room it is etc.
