After an inspiring exchange experience at Balettakademien, Lucia realized that The Professional Dancers Education was the best direction to take to accomplish their goals as becoming a professional dancer. They joined the education for the third and final year and in June 2025 they will be graduating.

Lucia Tagliabue, student at Balettakademien Stockholm

In March 2024, Lucia arrived at Balettakademien as an exchange student from Italy and immediately imagined themselves studying there. After witnessing the determination of the students and teachers they seized the opportunity to start a new experience and engage with a different kind of education.

What has been the best part of the education so far?

─ I think that the education offers so many different things, it is difficult to identify just a specific one, because I had a lot of distinct experiences through body, mind, and feelings. I have been challenged in many ways as a dancer and as a person.

─ The feedback from teachers and the support from my mentor have been very useful so far. It has been important for me to push myself to find joy in everything I do, both in class and outside. Motivation is very important to me as well as having fun in what I do.

What has been the biggest challenge?

─ Maybe the biggest challenge for me (apart from moving to a new and completely different country) has been, and maybe still is, to try, understand, and be part of the artistic, cultural points of view and methods. They are very different from what I have been used to.

What are your hopes and dreams for the future?

─ Right now, I am really hoping to find a company for the Erasmus+ Programme, because I think it is a great opportunity to gain real experience in the professional world. After that, I would love to find a company or a choreographer who shares the same artistic and human line of thought as mine. The most important thing for me is to grow and develop on different layers.
