Why did you choose to apply to The Professional Dancers Education?
– After finishing high school in Italy, I knew I wanted to explore the world of dance more deeply, and my goal was to do so by going abroad, experiencing new environments, and discovering new perspectives. Initially, I wasn't sure where to go, so I auditioned for different programs across Europe. However, from the day I first came to the school for the audition, I felt a positive vibe from the environment around me. This feeling led me to decide to move to Stockholm and start my education at BA.
What has been the best part of the education so far?
– It is difficult to pinpoint just one specific aspect. I am genuinely happy and grateful for the entire education experience. I feel I am in a safe place where I am seen not only as a dancer but also as a human being. I think this is really important because when we dance, we are expressing who we are. In the last month, we worked on creating the piece we performed before the break, and I enjoyed the entire process. It gave me a lot of inspiration and further confirmed that this is what I want to do.
What has been the biggest challenge?
– The biggest challenge for me was the significant change that my choice brought to my life. Moving to a new country without really knowing what I would face was naturally a bit scary, both before leaving and during my initial period in Stockholm. The only thing I was sure about was that dance would remain a constant in my life, and this certainty really helped me in the beginning. Now that some months have passed, I can say that it was worth overcoming the fear of the unknown.
What are your hopes and dreams for the future?
– At the moment, I am looking forward to starting the new year at the school, continuing to work deeply on my dance, and gaining new knowledge that can help me achieve my dream of working as a professional dancer in a contemporary dance company.
