What subject do you teach?
Graphic Design

What is your educational background?
I have a mixed background in Art & Theory, Music production and photography. I studied Critical Fine Art Practice, at the University of Brighton, UK.

What have you worked with before in the field?
As a practicing graphic designer, I work primarily with institutions and cultural organisations, artists, writers and curators. I specialise in print, exhibition design, type design, publishing, branding and identities. Notably, I worked for the Tate Gallery in London and a design agency, OK–RM.

What are you working on besides teaching?
Currently: Exhibition design for several exhibitions at Moderna Museet Malmö, a print journal for a fashion brand, an identity for the educational program of a local art gallery that focuses on drawing, alongside many of my own design projects.

Why did you choose to teach at LKD?
I wanted another way to practice design in a different environment. Teaching helps to simultaneously reinforce and deconstruct what I know about design. Allowing for a greater understanding and a different viewpoint of the discipline.

What is it like to work/teach at LKD?
LKD is a place where many ideas, people and inspiration all come together. The structure feels quite free, where the process of doing becomes more important than the result or end point. I like this approach and it works well with my own.

Why do you think that a student should choose to study at LKD?
The school is a unique environment, where students can explore their own intuitions, practice several different disciplines and learn about what it is that they want to go on to do in life. There is a lot of knowledge, experience and equipment provided, allowing students to play and explore their own ideas.

What inspires you?
The unknown, the unique, the conceptual, the experimental and the traditional. I am inspired by art (old+new), typography and its rich history, printed matter, and most importantly the effect that communication can have within culture.
