Folkuniversitetet has a long, established history of teaching SFI - Swedish for Immigrants. We adapt our SFI instruction to you, your needs and your educational background, regardless of level. We will help you find a just-right class option and course level.
Flexible class options
We offer daytime, evening and distance/online classes. You can also combine our different class options to create an SFI schedule that fits your job or other education.
Daytime classes:
On-site classes Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8:15 to 12:00.
Evening classes:
On-site classes Monday and Wednesday from 17:30 to 19:30, plus instruction using our digital learning platform.
Distance/online classes (classes held in real time via Zoom):
Remote-only classes Monday and Wednesday at 17:15 to 18:30, plus instruction using our digital learning platform.
Requirements to study SFI at Folkuniversitetet in Kalmar
- Be at least 16 years old; you can study SFI the year you turn 16
- Be registered (folkbokförd) as living in Kalmar municipality
- Have little or no basic knowledge of the Swedish language
- Have a Swedish personal identity number (personnummer) or be an EU citizen with a coordination number (samordningsnummer)
How to apply for SFI classes at Folkuniversitetet in Kalmar
