Who Can Take the Course
Our guitar course is suitable for both complete beginners and those who have been playing for several years and wish to find a new direction or development in their playing.
Course Content
If you are a beginner, you will receive guidance on fundamental techniques, notation, and music theory, allowing you to play simple pieces in various styles by reading music. If you already have experience, the lessons will be tailored to your current skill level and specific goals.
Course Goals
The goal of the course is for you to learn how to play simple songs while developing your musical abilities. By the end of the course, you will feel more motivated and have a solid foundation to continue your guitar journey. You’ll also have materials to refer to, whether you decide to continue with lessons or practice on your own.
Teaching Method
Individual lessons – the course is customized based on your level, needs, and goals, ensuring the best possible progress throughout the term. The lessons are conducted entirely online in English.
Course Structure & Fees
The lessons are typically offered over a 6-week period, and you have the flexibility to choose between 30-minute or 45-minute lessons.
- 30-minute lessons: 2475 SEK (including VAT), for 6 sessions
- 45-minute lessons: 3750 SEK (including VAT), for 6 sessions
After your 4th or 5th lesson, you can schedule additional lessons if desired.
For younger students (ages 5-10), we also offer 20-minute lessons at 2475 SEK (including VAT), spread over 10 sessions.
Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, our personalized approach ensures that every lesson aligns with your musical ambitions.
Course Format
The course is conducted entirely online. You will need access to a computer with a camera, microphone, and speakers, as well as a stable internet connection.
Registration
Email anisa.pasic@folkuniversitetet.se to express your interest and book a time that suits you and your teacher, which will then be scheduled weekly throughout the term. Please note that the registration is binding once the booking has been confirmed.
Literature/Materials
Course literature is not included in the course fee. The specific materials used in the course will be provided in your welcome message. The teacher may also use additional materials to keep the lessons varied and stimulating.
Kursledare
Stefan Miladinov
Stefan Miladinov is a guitarist, music educator, and researcher of Balkan folk traditions. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz and Pop Guitar Performance from UKIM - Faculty of Music Arts in Skopje.
At Folkuniversitetet, he teaches guitar with a focus on phrasing, vibrato, and blending technique with musicality, helping students develop their unique sound. He has also worked as a private guitar tutor for over a decade, providing tailored lessons for students of all levels.
Outside of teaching, Stefan has performed with acclaimed artists, including Zarina Prvasevda, whose ensemble won the UPBEAT Best New Talent Award in 2023. He has played at major festivals such as Balkan Trafik in Brussels and recorded with bands like Chromatic Point (“Sliki od Starata Kukja” (2014), “Izgrev” (2016)), Petar Malinov (“100 denari” (2014)), and Cobalt Code Unit (“Soilwork” (2020)). Passionate about folk music, he researches Macedonian musical traditions, working to adapt tambura techniques to the guitar and integrate them into contemporary genres like world music, folk rock, and metal.
