Help expand your vocabulary and improve your accuracy with the rich world of movies. Epic Movies: you will watch, discuss and compare 6 Blockbuster Adventure movies. All titles are currently available on Netflix, but may be found through other sources as well. Selections include Grease, Gangs of New York, Men in Black, Basic Instinct, Clueless, Boyz in the Hood, Hidden Figures, Back to the Future, Love Actually.
Lessons are held online via Teams.
Who is this online course for?
This course is for students who are already at B1/B2 level but feel they need to improve their speaking skills and confidence.
Aims of the course
- to develop your range of vocabulary through a variety of themes and topics.
- to teach you how to avoid common mistakes at your level so that you speak more accurately and correctly.
- to improve your ability to participate more naturally and fluently in conversation and discussions.
Working methods
- The course is taught exclusively in English by a teacher who has English as a native language.
- - Class size is between 5-8 students.
- - Discussion will be as a group.
- - You will be assigned a new movie for each week.
- Participants will watch the movies on their own, before each meeting.

The teacher will give you more information before the beginning of the first lesson. You need to look at the movie before the lesson.
Teacher
Renee Vrtiska has a bachelors degree in English from the University of Miami and has taught English to native speakers and second language learners since 2018. Her business experience ranges from leadership positions in philanthropic organizations to small business and educational institution board rooms in the US and Sweden. In her spare time, Renee is an avid reader of history and literature.
