Who is this course for?
This course is perfect for English learners who want to improve their interview skills, whether entering the job market for the first time, switching careers, or preparing for a promotion. It is designed for people who want to fine-tune their communication and interview techniques for real-world situations.The minimum level for the course is B1. If you are unsure of your level, please take our web-based language level test.
Course objectives and content
The aims of the Interview Techniques in English course are:
- Interview Preparation: How to research the company, role, and industry to tailor your responses effectively.
- Personal Presentation: Tips on dressing professionally, mastering body language, and creating a positive first impression.
- Answering Common Questions: Strategies to answer key interview questions such as "Tell me about yourself," "What are your strengths and weaknesses?" and more.
- Behavioural Interviewing: Learn to use the STAR method to answer behavioural questions with ease.
- Handling Difficult Questions: Tactics for responding to tough or unexpected questions like gaps in your resume or salary expectations.
- Interview Etiquette: Master the subtle but important aspects of body language, virtual interview tips, and closing an interview with confidence.
- Following Up: How to write a professional thank-you email and follow up after your interview.
Working methods
We work on speaking, listening, reading and writing, but our main focus is on verbal communication. The course is taught exclusively in English by teachers who have English as a native language. You will be working in pairs or small groups with classmates and taking an active part in lessons. You will be given homework for further practice throughout the course.

You will be given information about course material in the first lesson as it is important to be at the right level before buying books. Please note course material is not included in the course fee.
